Titel: Frequency support from hybrid power plant
The main objective of this project is to investigate the performance of a co-located hybrid power plant connected to a power system with a large share of RES, and thus with reduced inertia. The hybrid power plant considered in this work consists of a wind power plant, a solar photovoltaic plant, and a battery energy storage system.
The present work develops a central supervisory control methodology for the hybrid power plant to support the power system by offering fast frequency response (FFR) and frequency containment reserve (FCR) at its point of common coupling (PCC). The methodology proposes a dispatch strategy for the hybrid power plant and as well as for each of the sub-plants within the hybrid power plant to support the active power requirement at its PCC.
The performance of the hybrid power plant is evaluated at different operational and weather conditions. Moreover, sensitivity analysis has been performed for different combinations of installed capacity of the sub-plants in order to investigate the performance of the hybrid power plant.
