Advanced blade tips enabled by additive manufacturing and jointed blades.

The AMtip project aims to demonstrate that a radically new blade technology combining jointed modular blades with advanced tips made with additive manufacturing can enable increased rotor sizes by up to 20% and potentially lead to 5-15% increase in AEP compared to conventional blades. With a targeted 4% decrease in LCOE the new technology has the potential to disrupt the market and could result in a yearly reduction in global CO2 emissions of 73-220 mill. tons, thereby strengthening Denmark’s enormous potential for green economic growth.
