Yesterday, 20 young women from a 9th grade visited DTU Wind Energy due to the event ’Girls' Day in Science’.

Yesterday, on Wednesday the 12th of September 20 female 9th grade students from Utterslev School visited DTU Risø Campus in order to get to know more about, what we are doing.

The reason for the visit is the event ‘Girls' Day in Science’. It is a national campaign where industries, research centres and universities over the whole country invite girl students from high school to come and experience what working in a scientific environment is like. The girls are meeting women working in science and discuss the possible carrier paths within science through visits and presentations.

Wind tunnel and meteorology
The event was organized by a group of women at DTU Wind Energy. The day started with an informal lunch at the cantina to get a glimpse of the social bond, we have at DTU Wind Energy. Afterwards, the group of students had a guided tour in the wind tunnel and at the wind turbines, followed by two presentations on meteorology and composite materials. The event ended with a discussion on carrier possibilities in science and at DTU Wind Energy.
